Kim Brachford Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My great uncle was a resident at The Hallmark Nursing Facility, and overall our experience was very positive. There were a few minor issues, but the quality of care he received truly stood out. He had excellent aides and physical therapists, especially Gabriel and aide Noelle. They consistently got him out of bed, encouraged movement, and always took their time with him. They were patient, kind, and truly cared about his progress. The facility was also always very clean. There were a few aides I noticed who could be short with patients, including my great uncle, but I don’t want to base my entire experience on that, as it was not the majority. Overall, he was very much at peace during his stay. What impressed me most was his recovery. When he arrived, he was barely walking and was incontinent. With the help of therapy and consistent care, he progressed to walking independently and going back and forth to the bathroom on his own. He received proper toileting training and made significant improvements. The meal options were good, and the patient-to-staff ratio did not seem overwhelming. As a nurse myself, I believe this played a big role in allowing patients to receive the attention they needed to recover. I did witness a few unpleasant situations regarding how management handled certain issues involving aides and patients. I saw an aide experience physical abuse from a patient and then face repercussions due to reporting, which was concerning. However, these situations did not outweigh the overall quality of care my great uncle received. Overall, The Hallmark provided compassionate care and helped my great uncle regain his independence, and for that I am very gratefulOwner's replyThank you for taking the time to share your experience. My mother was in the (SNF) Skilled Nursing Facility at The Hallmark for nearly two years after her stroke in February 2023. My mother lost 90% of her ability on her left side and was bedbound, unable to use the restroom or even read which she loved to do. She also suffered from early to mid-stages of dementia. After trying and visiting a few other SNFs, I chose The Hallmark because of its friendly and comfortable feel and also because of its location. After a few months it became clear the The Hallmark was the right choice. Being bedbound requires a lot of attention; besides frequent brief changes, a CNA had to get her out of bed and into a wheelchair for each meal, exercise class, activities, therapies, bathing, hair and nail appointments, or to simply watch TV with the other residence rather than lying in her room watching TV by herself. The Hallmark CNAs did all this daily, got to know her, and treated her as their own mother or grandmother depending on the age of the CNA. I know this because I got to visit Mom on a daily basis and witnessed the care myself. My mother was very picky regarding her meals, but the food/meals at The Hallmark were excellent. Special entertainment was provided every holiday and the community areas were decorated and felt festive. The facilities at The Hallmark aren’t new, but yet it doesn’t lack anything and provide a warm environment. My only issue with The Hallmark is that there were periods of time early on where there seemed to be a high turnover of the CNAs. This is a significant problem as each resident has unique circumstances and needs for which the CNAs become mindful and careful to accommodate. However, this issue seemed to be resolved in early to mid-2024, and my mother had the same CNAs thereafter. We lost my mother in late April of 2025 and I want to thank the CNAs, nurses, food preparers, activity directors and even the cleaning/janitorial employees that all got to know, love, and care for my mother.Owner's replyThank you, Timothy, for your kind words and five-star review. We are honored to have cared for your mother during her time at The Hallmark. It means a great deal to hear that our team made her feel comfortable and supported, and that you saw that care firsthand. We also appreciate your honest feedback about staffing, and we’re glad those improvements made a difference. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with the staff who knew and cared for your mother. Most Hallmark residents experience a greater sense of security and community after making the decision to move in. They continue doing the things they enjoyed in their home, while finding new opportunities to discover interests, hobbies, friends and neighbors.
For over 50 years, The Hallmark has set the standard for refined senior living in Houston and the surrounding Galleria and Tanglewood areas. Founded in 1972, the community was designed to meet the expectations of discerning retirees who expect nothing less than the best. A place for those who appreciate sophistication, achievement and effortless living.
The Hallmark offers convenient services, social opportunities, dining, wellness and access to future care if needs change. As a not-for-profit community, residents always come first at The Hallmark, with every dollar reinvested in enhancing services, amenities and supporting the community’s long-term stability.
A Life Plan Community offers the social and active opportunities you want for an independent life, but it also offers a continuum of assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing services in the same location.
That means support is available whenever you may need it. Instead of moving to a different community during a health change, residents can remain connected to a familiar place, team and lifestyle.
The Hallmark has a full-time activities team on-site, and team members are passionate about making sure residents have opportunities to live well and feel great. There are many ways to stay healthy, from fitness classes and walking trails to thoughtful food options at mealtimes.
Residents can stay as active as they wish while enjoying the comfort of a community designed for connection, convenience and well-being.
When making a big living decision, it is important to have honest conversations with your family. We encourage potential residents to be open about what they want from their next chapter, including independence, security, social connection and future peace of mind.
Your family is welcome to tour The Hallmark with you, ask questions and see the community firsthand.
There are several factors in calculating the cost of a senior living community, including style of residence, level of support, contract type and whether the contract has a refundable portion.
The Hallmark offers a comprehensive entrance fee contract. Your entrance fee is a one-time payment that helps secure the residence of your choice while providing access to a full continuum of care. The Hallmark’s entrance fee contract is part of a Life Plan, meaning you’ll have convenient access to independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, all within the same community.
Residents aren’t just paying for an apartment, they’re investing in long-term peace of mind, predictable costs and access to care should their needs change over time.
The Hallmark is also a non-profit community backed by the stability and long-standing reputation of owner Brazos Presbyterian Homes, Inc, and governed by a local board of directors. All fees are reinvested directly into The Hallmark, with decisions being made by those who are deeply invested in the community and its residents, not by a distant corporate owner.
Our team is ready to walk you through how The Hallmark could fit into your future, Call us at 346-355-7335 or visit our website to schedule a private appointment and connect with one of our senior living experts to discover the distinguished lifestyle that awaits. You can also use MoneyGauge, The Hallmark’s financial calculator, to see how the community may fit your finances.
One of the biggest benefits of a Life Plan Community is priority access to higher levels of care, should your needs change. This means direct access to assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehab, all in the same community you’ve come to call home.
An entrance fee Life Plan Community is about having a thoughtful plan for tomorrow. It encourages proactive planning rather than reactive decision-making. It’s an added health assurance because the plan is already in place.
Refundability is another benefit of a Life Plan Community, designed to protect a resident’s estate. This means when a resident leaves the community or upon their passing, a portion of the original entrance fee is returned to the resident or their estate, once the residence is reoccupied per the contract terms.
With a Life Plan Community like The Hallmark, you can act with confidence instead of urgency, leaving you in control of your decisions and your future.
